With over 14,600 bookings already placed for the 2022 Perodua Myvi facelift, it’s no surprise that waiting time for the hugely popular B-segment hatchback is quite long now. If you place an order for the new Myvi today, you’ll have to wait four months before you receive the car.
This bit of info came from the CEO and President of Perodua himself, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad, as quoted by WapCar. The site wrote that for those who booked a Myvi between May to July 2021 – over 7,189 orders of the pre-facelift Myvi are upgrading to the new model, after all – they will get the hatchback by the end of this month.
Speaking of which, Perodua is aiming to deliver over 30,000 vehicles this month alone, which would be the national carmaker’s highest monthly sales figure yet, exceeding its previous best month of 27,858 units sold in October 2021. Moving forward, Perodua said that waiting times for its range of models will be reduced significantly too in 2022.
Given that Perodua is targeting to get 240,000 sales in 2022, shorter waiting times will be essential for the carmaker to achieve that figure. The extension of the sales tax exemption to June 2022 should also further bolster car sales in Malaysia for the first half of the year.
