After a slew of teasers, the 2022 Perodua Alza has finally been launched in Malaysia. Its final prices are slightly higher than the estimated pricing, but given that over 30,000 bookings of the MPV have been placed, it’s evidently a highly sought-after model.
Three variants of the new Alza are offered: there’s the base X model (RM62,500), mid-range H trim (RM68,000), and the highest-end AV variant (RM75,500). Both the X and AV trims are RM500 more than the estimated pricing, and these prices are on-the-road without insurance.
Yes, sales tax is also included in the prices listed. If you’ve booked the car by 30 June, you can enjoy lower tax-free prices on the MPV.
Just like the facelifted Myvi, all variants of the 2022 Alza is powered by a 1.5L DOHC engine that outputs 106PS and 138Nm of torque; slightly higher figures than the Myvi. Paired with a D-CVT transmission, it has an impressive quoted fuel efficiency of 22km per litre. Autonomous emergency braking and six airbags are also standard across the range.
Of course, as the range-topping model, the Alza AV comes with several exclusive features. These include a 360-degree camera, an integrated dashcam, electronic parking brake with auto brake hold, support for Android Auto, as well as the full capability of Perodua’s Advanced Safety Assist (ASA). It consists of adaptive cruise control, lane keep control, and blind spot monitor.
Deliveries of the 2022 Perodua Alza will begin today, so some lucky buyers will get their brand new MPV by the end of the day. Perodua assures customers who have placed their bookings by 30 June will receive the Alza by 31 March 2023 next year to enjoy tax-free prices.
