Huawei P50 Pro With 100x Zoom Coming to Malaysia Soon
December 31, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Launched in China back in July this year, the Huawei P50 Pro is finally coming to Malaysia. Sporting a quad camera system that can do 100x zoom along with a fast 120Hz OLED screen, it’s quite a sleek-looking device too.

Just today, the P50 Pro was registered with SIRIM under Huawei Malaysia. All electronics have to be certified by SIRIM first before they can be officially sold here, so there’s a good chance the P50 Pro will be launched locally very soon. On top of that, the flagship phone’s product page is already up on Huawei Malaysia’s website.

One of the highlights of the P50 Pro is its sophisticated quad camera system. It’s made up of a 50MP primary shooter, a 40MP monochrome sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, and of course, a 64MP telephoto camera that can do up to 100x digital zoom.

Other specifications of the P50 Pro include a 6.6-inch Full HD+ OLED dual curved screen with a fast 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G chipset, a 13MP selfie camera, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal storage, a 4,360mAh battery, an IP68 rating, and HarmonyOS 2 (still based on Android) out of the box.

In China, the Huawei P50 Pro with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM – which seems to be the only variant available in Malaysia, based on the local product page – retails at 6,488 Chinese yuan (about RM4,250). It’ll be interesting to see if it will be priced similarly in Malaysia once it is officially available here.
