Keychron Q2 Delayed to 12 January 2022
December 22, 2021 Andrew Cheng

It appears the Keychron Q2 has been delayed yet again. Previously said to be released sometime this month, the 65% gasket-mounted keyboard will now be available on 12 January 2022.

Unlike the Keychron Q1, there will be no pre-order of the Q2. Instead, the 65% keyboard will be sold as an in-stock product, so you won’t have to wait for months on end to receive the keyboard. However, it remains to be seen if the knob version of the Q2 will also be sold at the same time.

As you can see in the product shot above, the Q2 will come with double shot PBT keycaps in OSA profile too; quite a change over the OEM profile of the Q1’s stock keycaps. It’s worth noting that Keychron’s OSA keycaps look to be different from existing OSA keycaps – these keycaps seem to have more rounded corners.

Just like the Q1, the Q2 is a gasket-mounted keyboard with a hotswap PCB. It also features a CNC aluminium case, a steel plate, silicone pads between the top and bottom cases to reduce case ping (which should improve sound profile), and support for screw-in stabilisers.

So how much will the Keychron Q2 cost? According to Keychron, it will be priced similarly to the Q1 – which starts at $149 (about RM630) – despite the fact that it’s a smaller keyboard. Anyway, you can register your interest for the Q2 right here ahead of its launch on 12 January 2022 at 10PM Malaysian time.
