Since the Proton Saga facelift was launched in Malaysia back in 2019, it managed to be the best-selling car locally for a number of months. Needless to say, it’s a popular A-segment sedan, and Proton just revealed that over 100,999 units of the facelifted Saga have been sold locally.
According to the national carmaker, this makes the Saga facelift Malaysia’s number one A-segment sedan. Given its value proposition with a RM32,800 starting price, it’s little surprise that Proton managed to move so many units of the Saga.
It’s also worth noting that the Saga can still be purchased with a manual transmission; an increasingly rare option in today’s market. All variants of the sedan are also powered by a 1.3L four-cylinder engine that outputs 95hp and 120Nm of torque.
Prior to this facelifted model, the Saga was equipped with a CVT gearbox for those who want an automatic option. Now, the sedan features a four-speed automatic transmission instead that’s sourced from Hyundai. In fact, this is the same transmission used in the Kia Picanto.
If you’re keen to get the Proton Saga, you can head to your nearest Proton showroom to place a booking. Alternatively, you can also place a booking online for only RM9.99.
