Illegear just added a new product to its lineup of customisable gaming laptops. Enter the Illegear Onyx M, a premium, lightweight gaming laptop with Intel’s latest Tiger Lake-H chip.

Given its premium positioning, the Onyx M does cost quite a bit of money. Retailing from RM7,599, this gaming laptop offers a sole Core i7-11800H processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU (115W TGP), 16GB of RAM, 500GB of SSD storage, and a 15.6-inch 2560 x 1440 IPS display with a fast 165Hz refresh rate.

If you need a more powerful GPU, you can fork out RM1,499 extra to get the faster RTX 3070 configuration with a 125W TGP. There’s also a pre-order special for the gaming laptop right now until 15 December, which upgrades the SSD and RAM to 1TB and 32GB respectively, along with a Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste for the CPU and GPU. These upgrades are worth RM1,157.

As mentioned, the Onyx M is quite a lightweight gaming machine, tipping the scales at only 1.94kg thanks to its magnesium alloy chassis. Considering the fact that this laptop also features a generous 94Wh battery – it should be quite long-lasting – this is really quite impressive.

The Illegear Onyx M is now available for pre-order in Malaysia on the company’s online store. The RTX 3060 model is expected to start shipping from 31 December, while the RTX 3070 configuration is arriving here slightly earlier on 20 December 2021.
