Perodua is aiming to hit 30,000 sales this month, which would be the national carmaker’s highest monthly sales figure yet, exceeding its previous best month of 27,858 units sold in October 2021. Aside from that, Perodua also revealed that over 14,600 orders for the 2022 Perodua Myvi facelift have been received.
“Of the 14,600 units (the new Myvi facelift) booked, 7,189 orders were converted from the previous variants,” said the CEO and President of Perodua, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad. The carmaker added that over 42,288 units of the Myvi were registered between January and November 2021 – a very respectable figure.
Zainal also apologised for a slightly lower delivery of 20,299 units in November last month, which is attributed to intermittent disruption from COVID-19 and the semiconductor chip supply shortage. “We are working with the automotive ecosystem to overcome these issues, and with these countermeasures in place, we see December 2021 as our best month yet,” he said.
With so many orders already placed for the 2022 Perodua Myvi facelift, we reckon the national carmaker will be able to hit its 30,000 sales mark this month. Moving forward, Perodua is aiming to register as many as 240,000 units in 2022 next year.
