Proton’s sales in November 2021 were very encouraging, and it was thanks to two popular models in its lineup: the Proton Saga and Proton X50. In fact, the Saga was the best-selling car in Malaysia last month with over 5,666 units sold.
The national carmaker also added that the Saga remains to lead the A-segment sedan market, a position the company is hopeful it will retain until the end of the year. The X50 also continues to be the best-selling B-segment SUV – and the SUV market in general, according to Proton – with 4,010 units delivered.
Naturally, the Proton X70 also leads the C-segment SUV market in November 2021 with 1,901 units sold. These are followed by the Persona (1,534), Iriz (642), and Exora (434, best-selling C-segment MPV). In total, Proton sold 14,187 units last month.
Curiously, Proton said that the 2022 Iriz and Persona are affected by component supply issues, limiting their production volumes. “November was a good sales month for Proton though overall industry numbers continue to be limited by supply and not demand,” said the CEO of Proton Edar, Roslan Abdullah.
