The 2022 Honda Civic was tipped to be launched in Malaysia sometime this year, but while there’s still no concrete details of the C-segment sedan’s debut here, we do have some pretty interesting leaks. If these leaked information are accurate, there won’t be a 1.8L model of the 11th gen Civic FE.
These leaked details come from aarex and PoisonSoul from Lowyat.NET’s forum. As the images below show, there will supposedly be three different variants of the 2022 Civic: there’s the base E trim, mid-range V model, and the range-topping RS variant.
All of them seem to be powered by a 1.5L turbo engine that outputs 182PS and 240Nm of torque. The mill is said to be paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), as expected.
We also get a look at what appears to be Malaysian-specific units of the 11th gen Civic E and RS models. The base E model gets 16-inch alloy wheels, smart clear wiper, auto opening trunk, as well as LED headlights and DRLs; a solid list of features despite being the most affordable model.
The range-topping Civic RS, on the other hand, adds on larger, sleeker 18-inch wheels finished in black, twin exhaust tips, a black spoiler, black door handles, black side mirrors, and of course, the RS emblem on the front end. All in all, it has a sportier exterior, matching the RS branding.
Given that these details on the 2022 Honda Civic did not come from Honda Malaysia itself, there is a chance they are not accurate, so take them with a grain of salt. Rest assured, we’ll keep a close eye on any official news regarding the local availability of the new Civic.
