The first round of fulfilment for the Mode SixtyFive custom keyboard was initially set to begin this month, but the company just revealed that this has been pushed back. Now, the SixtyFive will only start shipping to customers in the second week of November 2021.
Do note that this is only for those who have purchased a solderable PCB for the SixtyFive. If you got the hotswap PCB instead (like myself), fulfilment for this configuration will only begin around the fourth week of November.
According to Mode, this delay is caused by “global shipping network congestion” – a portion of SixtyFive parts still haven’t gotten to the company yet. On the bright side, Mode said that it will be fulfilling SixtyFive orders nonstop on a rolling basis once the parts have arrived.
“We do not anticipate any further delays with orders set to fulfill after this initial wave,” Mode added. While it’s definitely disheartening to have the fulfilment pushed back to November, the SixtyFive is still set to ship quite fast compared to other custom keyboards. After all, it only went up for pre-orders back in June.
Different configurations of the Mode SixtyFive
Speaking of which, the Mode SixtyFive is still available for pre-order right now until 2022; you can start customising the keyboard over at Mode’s online store. To recap, the 65% custom keyboard starts at $299 (about RM1,240), and at the time of writing, new pre-orders of the keyboard are expected to ship in February 2022.
