Just last week, we spotted the Honor 50 in SIRIM’s database, and we just heard from Honor Malaysia that the phone will be arriving here next week on 18 October. This makes Malaysia the first market outside of China to get the Honor 50.

What’s particularly interesting about the Honor 50 – in comparison to previous smartphones from the Chinese company – is the fact that it comes with Google Mobile Services. This gives the device access to Google’s range of apps and services, which is really the defining trait of an Android smartphone.

Aside from that, Honor 50 is a reasonably well-equipped mid-range smartphone too with a premium-looking design. For one, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, which should be able to offer a good level of performance. It also comes with a 120Hz 6.57-inch 1080p OLED display.

Other specifications of the Honor 50 include a quad camera system (108MP primary + 8MP ultra-wide angle + 2MP macro + 2MP depth), a 32MP selfie camera, a 4,300mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging, up to 12GB of RAM, as well as 128GB or 256GB of non-expandable storage.

The Honor 50 will be launched in Malaysia next week on 18 October at 8PM. We’ll find out then how much the phone will be priced at for the local market.
