UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) just released its monthly sales for the month of September 2021. Just like other players in the industry, the company sees a steady rise in sales with over 8,033 units sold. This figure includes both Toyota and Lexus models sold in Malaysia.
Of the 8,033 units sold last month, Toyota models make up 7,931 of the figure. The remaining 102 units, on the other hand, are made up of the premium Lexus vehicles. Compared to August 2021 – where UMWT sold 2,524 units – September 2021’s sales is a whopping 223% increase.
The company added that compared to the same month in 2020, it managed to sell 43% more vehicles in September 2021. In total, UMWT has sold over 43,594 units so far this year; a huge increase over the 25,978 units the company sold in the same period in 2020.
“We are certainly pleased to see the market steadily moving towards normalcy as the past few months have been challenging for us,” said the President of UMW Toyota Motor, Ravindran. K. “I would like to assure our customers that they will be safe and protected when they visit our showrooms or service centres, but at the same time, we remind them that they need to comply with the SOPs,” he added.
