Samsung’s 2021 Foldables Hit 1 Million Sales in Korea – 70% Were Galaxy Z Flip 3
October 8, 2021 Andrew Cheng

It appears Samsung’s latest foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3, are well-received by consumers. According to a report from The Korea Herald, over 1 million units of the two devices have been sold in South Korea alone.

Out of the two foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the more popular device in South Korea; it makes up about 70% of the total sales. This is likely due to its more affordable nature, and Samsung Korea also said that approximately 54% of Z Flip 3 buyers were millennial and Gen Z consumers.

Compared to Samsung’s previous releases, only the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S8 reached the 1 million mark at a faster pace. Evidently, Samsung’s 2021 foldable phones really have reached mainstream status. It seems the South Korean company’s decision to forego the Note series for the Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 was the right call.
