Genshin Impact 2.2 Brings Thoma, Hu Tao, Tartaglia & New Inazuma Island on 13 October
October 4, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Mihoyo just revealed more information on Version 2.2 of Genshin Impact. Set to arrive next week on 13 October, the new update will add Thoma, a new 4-star Pyro polearm character. On top of that, Version 2.2 will also see the return of Hu Tao and Tartaglia’s banners, along with the addition of Tsurumi Island, the last major island of Inazuma.

Let’s start with the event wishes for the characters coming in Genshin Impact 2.2. Tartaglia will be the first one to go live come 13 October; this is actually his third rerun in the game. His banner will then be replaced by Hu Tao’s event wish, which will also include Thoma.

As for Tsurumi Island, it is described as an island “shrouded in dense fog, and players may easily get lost and encounter unprecedented challenges while exploring this area.” The island is also home to the new Rifthound and Rifthound Whelp monsters, which will inflict the “Corrosion” status to players hit by their attacks.

Other new additions coming to Version 2.2 of Genshin Impact include a new domain challenge featuring Tartaglia and Xinyan, a seasonal rhythm game, a new Inazuma-themed realm layout for the Serenitea Pot, as well as DualSense controller support for the PC version of the game.

Genshin Impact 2.2 will go live next week on 13 October. Do note that once Version 2.2 is live, all players will be able to claim Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy, a free 5-star Cryo character, until 24 November 2021.
