If the Predator Triton 500 SE and Helios 500 are out of your budget, consider the Acer Predator Helios 300 instead. Though it’s not quite as powerful as its aforementioned siblings, the Helios 300 is still a very capable gaming laptop – it can even be configured with a blazing fast 360Hz display.
As many as five different variants of the Helios 300 are offered in Malaysia with two screen sizes. Let’s start with the 15.6-inch configurations first: the base model (RM6,299) comes with a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS panel with a 360Hz refresh rate, an Intel Core i7-11800H processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.

A tier up is the RM7,699 model, which upgrades the GPU to an RTX 3070, along with a sharper 1440p IPS panel (albeit with a lower 160Hz refresh rate), 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of SSD storage. The range-topping 15.6-inch Helios 300, on the other hand, adds on a faster Core i9-11900H processor and 32GB of RAM for RM9,999.
And then we have the 17.3-inch Helios 300. The most affordable model (RM7,999) is packed with a Core i7-11800H processor, an RTX 3060 GPU, a 360Hz FHD IPS display, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. If you want better gaming performance, there’s the RTX 3070 model for RM8,999, which also features a sharper QHD IPS screen with a 165Hz refresh rate.
The Acer Helios 300 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia until 6 October 2021; those who pre-order any variant of this gaming laptop will also receive over RM1,000 worth of freebies. If you purchase the range-topping Core i9 model instead, you’ll also get a Predator Gaming Chair worth RM1,299.
