Aside from the Triton 500 SE, Acer Malaysia also launched the powerful Acer Predator Helios 500 today. Packed with a mini-LED display and an overclockable processor, this is easily the Taiwanese company’s most impressive gaming laptop yet.

Two configurations of the Helios 500 are available in Malaysia. The base model with an Intel Core i7-11800H processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU (8GB GDDR6) goes for RM13,999, while the range-topping RM19,999 variant features an overclockable Core i9-11980HK processor and an RTX 3080 GPU with 16GB GDDR6 memory.

The Core i9 configuration of the Helios 500 is also the only model to feature a bright and vibrant 17.3-inch 4K mini-LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, not to mention a whopping 64GB RAM and 2TB of fast PCIe NVMe Gen4 SSD storage. Without a doubt this is a serious gaming machine.

As for the slightly more affordable Helios 500 with a Core i7 processor, it features a more modest 32GB of RAM and a 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen4 SSD. Though it doesn’t get a fancy mini-LED display, it has a blazing fast 17.3-inch 1080p panel with a 360Hz refresh rate.

The Acer Predator Helios 500 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia next month on 30 October. If you place your pre-order between 30 October to 6 November, you’ll also get RM2,414 worth of freebies, including a Predator Gaming Chair worth RM1,299.
