Monster Hunter Rise will receive a brand new, “massive expansion” next year. Dubbed Sunbreak, the paid DLC will introduce a new story, quest rank, locales, and of course, new monsters, including the mysterious flagship monster in the trailer below.
Sunbreak looks to be a similar add-on to Rise as Iceborne was for Monster Hunter World, though details on the new expansion is scarce at the moment. That being said, we do know that it will be coming to Nintendo Switch (naturally) next year, and surprisingly enough, even for PC.
In fact, Sunbreak for Monster Hunter Rise will release simultaneously on the Switch and PC. Previously, Capcom said that Rise will be coming to PC sometime in early 2022 – it remains to be seen if the PC version will be launched at the same time as Sunbreak.
With a new storyline, locales, gameplay elements, and monsters in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Capcom is definitely keeping the game exciting months after its initial launch in March this year. More details on Sunbreak will be revealed in the future.
