The event wish for Genshin Impact’s brand new playable character, Sangonomiya Kokomi, will go live in the game tomorrow! The banner of the brand new 5-star Hydro character will be accompanied by Rosaria, Beidou, and Xingqiu – a good lineup of 4-star characters.

Just like Genshin Impact’s previous character event wishes, the “drop rate” of Kokomi, Rosaria, Beidou, and Xingqiu will be increased. In the case of Kokomi, the first 5-star character you get will have a 50% chance to be her. If you didn’t get her in this instance, the next 5-star character you roll is guaranteed to be Kokomi.

Genshin Impact’s pity system ensures that you will get at least one 5-star character or weapon every 90 wishes – depending on which banner you’re rolling – so you will have to do 180 rolls for a guaranteed Kokomi. The same rule applies to 4-star units (guaranteed every 10-roll instead), but since there are three of them featured in the event wish, it’s a little bit more random.

Basically, when you’re guaranteed a 4-star character from the banner, you will get either Rosaria, Beidou, or Xingqiu. If you’re aiming to get either one of these three characters, you will have to roll a good number of times, depending on your luck.

Sangonomiya Kokomi’s “Drifting Luminescence” event wish will go live in Genshin Impact on 21 September tomorrow at 6PM. Her banner will be available until 12 October, and we expect Thoma to be featured in an event wish once the Version 2.2 update is available.
