A new food delivery service is is town! As we’ve previously reported, ShopeeFood – which will compete against GrabFood and FoodPanda – has just been launched in Malaysia. That being said, at the time of writing, the service is only available in selected areas within the Klang Valley.
The availability of ShopeeFood in Malaysia was first reported by Amanz, if you can see the ShopeeFood icon in the main page of the Shopee app, that means your current area is covered by the new food delivery service.
We’ve tried opening the Shopee app in several locations in the Klang Valley area, and we can confirm that the ShopeeFood icon will disappear if the service isn’t available in your current location. According to Shopee, more delivery areas will be added in the near future, though it remains to be seen if that includes locations outside of Klang Valley too.
Anyway, according to ShopeeFood’s FAQ, you can use vouchers and Shopee Coins for your ShopeeFood orders. Do note that ShopeeFood will also charge a service fee; the amount varies from one merchant to another.
