Nintendo Switch OLED Pre-Orders Still Available in Malaysia – RM100 Deposit
September 14, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Back in July, a number of Malaysian retailers opened bookings for the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model). Only limited slots were offered then, but it appears more allocations have been received by these stores. If you want to get your hands on the new console next month, you may want to pre-order it now.

Of course, given that the OLED Switch has not been released yet, only place a booking with trustworthy retailers, such as the ones highlighted here. These include Impulse GamingOtakuya, and Jiro Game – all of them are renowned local retailers. A RM100 booking fee is required to secure your order from these stores.

Looking at the listings by these retailers, more units of the new White colourway are offered; only six units of the Neon Red/Neon Blue variant are available from Otakuya at the time of writing. Anyway, compared to its predecessor, the new OLED Switch features a larger 7-inch OLED panel with thinner bezels.

Aside from that, it has double the internal storage too at 64GB, and the stand sees a design revision as well. Instead of the original Switch’s fragile-looking stand, this new Switch uses a much sturdier, wider stand that is also adjustable. This makes it easier to find for the right angle when the Switch is in tabletop mode.

Other changes introduced in the new OLED Switch include a new dock with a wired LAN port, “enhanced audio” from the system’s onboard speakers, and between 4.5 to 9 hours of battery life – the same quoted battery life as its predecessor.

If you want to be one of the first in Malaysia to get the new Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) once it’s available on 8 October worldwide, you can place your booking for the new console with the retailers listed above. Do note that local pricing has not been revealed yet, but for context, the new Switch costs $350 in the US – that’s about RM1,450.
