It’s official! Samsung Malaysia just revealed the local pricing of its latest compact foldable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Retailing from RM3,999, it’s quite a bit more affordable than expected.
Two variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 are available in Malaysia: the base model with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM costs RM3,999, while the 256GB configuration with the same amount of RAM retails at RM4,199.
It’s worth noting that the Malaysian pricing of the Z Flip 3 is quite a bit lower than in the US market. Over there, this foldable phone starts at $999, which comes up to about RM4,230.
For that kind of money, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 offers flagship-class hardware. Powering the foldable phone, for one, is Qualcomm’s fast Snapdragon 888 chipset. The phone’s cover screen has also been upsized to a 1.9-inch 512 x 260 Super AMOLED panel. With more screen real estate, it can show more detailed notifications and widgets.
Other specifications of the Z Flip 3 include a 6.7-inch 1080p Dynamic AMOLED 2X primary screen with a 120Hz refresh rate – the protective layer of the foldable glass screen is now 80% more durable too – a dual camera system (12MP primary + 12MP ultra-wide angle), a 10MP selfie camera, a 3,300mAh battery, and an IPX8 water resistance rating.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from 19 August until 21 September 2021. To recap, the 128GB model costs RM3,999, while the 256GB variant retails at RM4,199. Every pre-order of the Z Flip 3 will come with a one-year Samsung Care+ Plan worth RM699, along with a RM600 Samsung Online Store e-voucher.
