Not much longer now until Proton officially reveals the 2021 Proton Iriz Active and Persona facelift tomorrow morning. Before that, the national carmaker released yet another teaser of the Iriz Active, which is believed to be the SUV-style crossover version of the B-segment hatchback.
Just like previous spy shots have confirmed, the Iriz Active has new LED headlights, an updated Infinite Weave grille, as well as Proton’s new circular logo. There is also a red accent across the grille, giving the hatchback a sportier appeal. All in all, an improved front fascia, in our opinion.
To complete the SUV styling of the Iriz Active, the exterior of the hatchback has a number of new additions too. These include wheel arch extensions finished in black, roof rails, and a blacked-out roof. It also features new (and larger) 16-inch alloy wheels.
The teaser video shows some of the Iriz Active’s interior as well. More specifically, the new floating infotainment system. Though it wasn’t demonstrated in the video, the “Hi Proton” voice command should now be able to control the windows and air-conditioning. Previously, it can only be used to control the audio.
The 2021 Proton Iriz Active and Persona facelift will be launched tomorrow on 5 August; the virtual launch will start at 11AM on Proton’s Facebook page. If you’re keen to get either one of these two new B-segment models, you can register your interest over here.
