Proton is building up quite a bit of hype for the launch of the 2021 Proton Persona and Iriz facelift. Today, the national carmaker released a new teaser focusing on the updated Persona, showcasing the more premium interior and exterior of the B-segment sedan.
Just like the Proton X50, the facelifted Persona is sporting Proton’s updated circular logo. Complementing the new logo is the equally new Infinite Weave grille, which does give the the sedan a more sophisticated-looking front end. You can see this new design in previous spy shots of the Persona too.
On the inside, there are also a number of changes, such as the brown seats – which looks to be finished in leather – as well as a new floating infotainment system. Of course, the “Hi Proton” voice command is still here too, and it seems to be able to control the windows and air-conditioning now. Previously, it can only be used to control the audio.
Another neat upgrade to the interior of the Persona facelift is the new digital air-conditioning controls instead of a manual unit, giving the sedan a more premium look and feel. However, it’s worth noting that this doesn’t mean the new sedan will also get automatic air-conditioning.
The 2021 Proton Persona and Iriz facelift will be launched this Thursday on 5 August; the virtual launch will start at 11AM on Proton’s Facebook page on that day. You can also register your interest for the new Persona and Iriz over here.
