The 2021 Proton Persona and Iriz facelift will debut this Thursday on 5 August, but before that, here’s a fresh set of spy shots. Compared to previous leaked images, this is our best look yet at the two new B-segment models.

These images came from a reader of Funtasticko, which shows the Iriz Active – the crossover version of the hatchback – and Persona quite a bit. To our knowledge, this is also the first time the “Active” moniker is confirmed for the Iriz; the word is shown on the driver’s seat and door panel.

The dual-tone interior and exterior of the Iriz Active are pictured here too. Compared to the current Iriz, the facelift’s overall design is a lot more modern-looking. It has LED headlights now, new 16-inch alloy wheels, a redesigned Infinite Weave grille, as well as Proton’s new circular logo.

Some of these design changes are evident on the new Persona facelift as well. However, although it shares the same grille design and new Proton logo as the Iriz Active, it has a more understated styling for those who want a more mature-looking car. Its brown seats, for one, don’t look quite as sporty as the Iriz’s black and red colour interior.
