Samsung’s Unreleased S Pen Pro Now in SIRIM – Likely for Galaxy Z Fold 3
July 28, 2021 Andrew Cheng

As we approach Samsung’s next Unpacked event on 11 August, more interesting details are coming up. Take the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, which will likely debut at the event next month – the accompanying stylus for the flagship foldable phone, the S Pen Pro, has just been registered with SIRIM.

Just yesterday, Samsung Malaysia registered the S Pen Pro (EJ-P5450) with SIRIM. Before electronics can be officially sold here in Malaysia, they have to be registered with the certification body first, so there’s a good chance Malaysia will be one of the first markets to get the new Z Fold 3.

This wouldn’t really be a surprise: Samsung Malaysia has always brought in its latest smartphones in a very timely manner. Of course, it’s still great to see that the S Pen Pro for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has been registered with SIRIM already. It’s good to have a confirmation of sorts.

Anyway, based on leaks and rumours, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is shaping up to be Samsung’s most refined foldable phone to date. While its design is mostly the same as its predecessor, the Z Fold 2, it’s said to be sporting an IPX8 water resistance rating now. This makes it the first foldable with such a rating, alongside the Z Flip 3.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be making its debut on 11 August next month at the South Korean company’s next Unpacked event. It is believed to be accompanied by the Z Flip 3 as well, not to mention new smartwatches and a pair of wireless earbuds.
