Virtual CACs Activated – Mildly Symptomatic COVID-19 Patients Now Required to Stay Home

Following reports that COVID-19 Assessment Centres (CAC) are overwhelmed within the Greater Klang Valley area due to the surge of COVID-19 positive cases, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has decided to activate Virtual CACs. Basically, COVID-19 patients in Selangor, KL, and Putrajaya with no or mild symptoms are now required to stay at home.

This extends to those who had close contacts with COVID-19 patients; they are advised to “self-isolate at home with no need for testing unless symptomatic.” As for those who tested positive for COVID-19, they are required to report the result through MySejahtera to receive a Digital Home Surveillance Order (HSO).

Following reports that CACs in the Greater Klang Valley are overwhelmed due to the current surge of COVID-19 positive cases:

Aside from that, they are also required to complete the Home Assessment Tool (HAT) on a daily basis in the MySejahtera app. Patients’ self-assessments will be monitored through the Virtual CAC Management Module within the eCOVID19 system, and they will be contacted by the CAC Call Centre if needed.

However, if symptoms worsen, COVID-19 patients in Virtual CACs “should seek immediate care at the nearest hospital instead of waiting for a call from Virtual CAC.”
