Once supplies of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine has run out, Malaysia will stop acquiring more stocks of the vaccine. This was revealed by the Health Minister, Adham Baba, in a press conference.
According to the minister, this is done as Malaysia has sufficient number of other COVID-19 vaccines for the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme. He elaborated that the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine will be increasingly used moving forward.
In fact, Malaysia has ordered over 45.7 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine. In comparison, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that Malaysia has secured 16 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine to date.
