Genshin Impact Version 2.0 Arrives 21 July – Adds Inazuma Region, New Characters, Cross-Save With PlayStation
July 9, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Mihoyo just announced Genshin Impact‘s biggest expansion yet. Not only will the Version 2.0 update add the region of Inazuma – the third major city in the game – three new playable characters are also coming. And get this: cross-platform progression with PlayStation will be implemented too.

Let’s start with the region of Inazuma. Come 21 July, players will be able to journey to the six main islands of Inazuma. As you can see in the video trailer below, the new region will add new mechanics, enemies, bosses, as well as new quests.

Aside from that, three new playable characters will also be added in Genshin Impact Version 2.0. Kamisato Ayaka, a 5-star Cryo sword user, will have her event wish first, followed by Yoimiya (5-star Pyro archer) and Sayu (4-star Anemo claymore user) in the same banner.

Last but certainly not least is the addition of cross-platform progression with PlayStation. If you’re currently playing Genshin Impact on the PS5 or PS4, you’d be happy to know that you can continue your progress on other platforms in Version 2.0, including Android, iOS, and of course, PC.

Genshin Impact Version 2.0 will go live on 21 July; Ayaka’s event wish should be available on the same day as well. It’s great to see Mihoyo continue to improve the game long after its initial launch back in September. Genshin Impact is certainly shaping up to the one of the biggest live service games in the market.
