It’s been a while since we’ve seen any spy shots of the upcoming 2021 Proton Persona and Iriz. This time around, we got a look at the two upcoming models undisguised, courtesy of a Facebook live video from the Perak Police.
That’s right, these images of the facelifted Persona and Iriz (courtesy of Paultan.org) were taken from the Perak Police‘s live video on Facebook, which has since been taken down. Though it’s not easy to make out all the details in the video, it does confirm a number of previous leaks and rumours.
LED headlights, for one, are confirmed for the Persona and Iriz, though they’re likely reserved for the higher-end trims. The updated 16-inch alloy wheels can be seen too, along with the new Infinite Weave grille and circular Proton logo.
The previously leaked floating infotainment system of the Iriz – and effectively, the Persona too, given their similarities – is shown in the video as well. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any footage of the Iriz Active, which is believed to be the crossover version of the B-segment hatchback.
Previously, Proton said that the ongoing lockdown in Malaysia is putting a damper on its plans to introduce new models, so it remains to be seen exactly when the 2021 Proton Persona and Iriz facelift will be launched.
