July 1, 2021 Andrew Cheng

It’s been confirmed for quite some time now, but we now have the exact Malaysian launch date of Huawei’s latest mid-ranger, the Huawei Nova 8i. Sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip along with 66W fast charging, Malaysia is one of the first markets to receive the new smartphone.

One of the main highlights of the Nova 8i has to be its 66W fast charging. According to Huawei, the phone’s 4,300mAh battery can be charged up to 60% in only 17 minutes. A full charge, on the other hand, takes only 38 minutes.

In the camera department, the Nova 8i features a quad camera configuration. It’s made up of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle shooter, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. All in all, a reasonably good camera setup for a mid-range smartphone.

Other specifications of the Nova 8i include a 6.67-inch 2376 x 1080 screen with a impressive 94.7% screen-to-body ratio, a Snapdragon 662 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, as well as a 16MP selfie camera.

The Huawei Nova 8i will make its Malaysian debut next week on 6 July. We’re also told that the mid-ranger will be available for pre-order the following day on 7 July.
