The Huawei P50 is said to be launching sometime in July next month, and we now have our very first look at the actual smartphone courtesy of a new leak. Aside from the unique design of the camera module, these images also show off a…very dazzling pink colourway.
According to the source of the leak, there’s a chance this pink colour option of the P50 will not be mass-produced, indicating that it could be a limited edition model. We also got a closer look at the Leica-branded quad camera system, with what appears to be a periscope telephoto lens housed in the lower module.
Unfortunately, the front side of the P50 was not pictured, though based on previous leaks, it should be sporting an OLED display with a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. Of course, there could be design differences between different models in the P50 series.
Rumours are also suggesting that the P50 smartphones will be powered by an LTE-only version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, while some devices in the series will be getting Huawei’s very own Kirin 9000 chip instead. This makes sense, given that the Kirin 9000 is used by the Huawei Mate 40 series.
We’ll find out just what the Huawei P50 series has to offer once it is officially launched. It’s likely that the P50 smartphones will be unveiled sometime in July 2021 next month.
