Motorola Moto G100 With Snapdragon 870 & 5,000mAh Battery Coming to Malaysia?
June 21, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Now this is quite interesting: Motorola’s latest upper mid-range smartphone, the Moto G100, could be coming to Malaysia soon. Sporting a pretty fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset with a very generous 5,000mAh battery, it is touted as Motorola’s fastest Moto G device yet.

In our routine search through SIRIM’s database, we saw that the Moto G100 with the model number XT2125-4 was registered with the certification body under Lenovo Malaysia just today on 21 June. Electronics have to go through SIRIM first before they can be officially sold here, so there’s a chance the G100 will be made available locally soon.

As Motorola puts it, the Moto G100 really is the fastest smartphone in the series yet. Powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset – which is basically a faster version of the Snapdragon 865 – you can expect to get excellent performance out of the phone with above average battery life, thanks to its huge 5,000mAh battery.

Other specifications of the Moto G100 include a 6.7-inch 1080p IPS screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, a triple camera system (64MP primary + 16MP ultra-wide angle + 2MP depth) with a TOF sensor for faster autofocus, as well as two selfie cameras (16MP primary + 8MP ultra-wide angle).

No word yet on the Malaysian launch of the Motorola Moto G100. But given that it has been registered with SIRIM already, there’s a good chance it will be sold locally very, very soon. It’ll be interesting to see how much it will be priced at here; for context, the G100 costs €499.99 in European markets, which comes up to about RM2,465.
