Launched globally just yesterday, it appears the OnePlus Nord CE 5G – CE stands for Core Edition – will be arriving in Malaysia very soon. Essentially, it’s a more affordable alternative to the higher-end OnePlus Nord, though it does have a number of improvements…and some sacrifices.
In our routine search through SIRIM’s database, we spotted the Nord CE 5G, which was registered under All Plus Technology on 9 June 2021 with the model number EB2103. Electronics have to be certified with SIRIM first before they can be officially sold in Malaysia, so there’s a good chance the mid-ranger will be made available here soon.
While its design looks strikingly similar to the original Nord, the Nord CE 5G does have a number of differences. For one, it ships with a slightly slower Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset instead of the Nord’s Snapdragon 765G processor. That being said, the Nord CE 5G does have a larger 4,500mAh battery.
Other specifications of the Nord CE 5G include a 6.43-inch 1080p Fluid AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, up to 256GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM, a triple camera system (64MP primary + 8MP ultra-wide angle + 2MP depth), a 16MP selfie camera, and OxygenOS based on Android 11 out of the box.
No word yet on exactly when the OnePlus Nord CE 5G will arrive in Malaysia. But seeing that it has already been registered with SIRIM, we reckon it will be sold here very soon.
