The Proton X70 SE was previously leaked last month, and while it remains to be seen exactly when it will be officially introduced, we’ve got a couple of spy shots of the upcoming special edition C-segment SUV.

We came across these pictures from The Ajerul‘s Facebook post. The rear end shot of the X70 SE was shared by the page, while the side profile image came from another Facebook user (Raaf Man) in the comments section. Note the SE emblem on the rear of the X70 right below the left taillight.

Looking back at the leaked brochures of the X70 SE, the special edition SUV is offered in two colours: Ocean Blue – the same colour offered on the Proton X50 and Iriz – and Ruby Red. It also features a blacked-out roof and side mirrors, along with new 19-inch alloy wheels that’s similar in design to the ones used on the Geely Boyue Pro.

Other noteworthy additions to the X70 SE include black nappa leather seats instead of brown, different trim finishing in the interior, as well as optional door visors and dash cam. Aside from these aesthetic changes, other aspects of the special edition model should be similar to the regular version, including a 1.8L turbo engine (181hp/300Nm) paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Given that Malaysia is currently under total lockdown until 14 June – pending further extension, if any – it’s hard to say exactly when the Proton X70 SE will be officially launched. Of course, we will keep a close eye for any details on the local launch of the C-segment SUV.
