Disney+ Hotstar is finally available in Malaysia yesterday. However, word got around that there is a monthly and annual subscription to the streaming service, which are quite a bit cheaper than the RM54.90 quarterly membership. Well, this is now proven to be false.

In Disney+ Hotstar’s app listing on the Apple App Store, three subscription periods were shown: monthly (RM11.90), quarterly (RM54.90), and annual (RM62.90). However, in a statement given by a Disney+ Hotstar representative to Amanz, only the RM54.90 three-month membership is available in Malaysia.

The supposed monthly and annual pricings for Disney+ Hotstar, on the other hand, are directly converted from the Indonesian market. This explains why the pricing of the two plans are in stark contrast to the quarterly subscription.

Of course, it’s entirely possible a monthly or annual subscription to Disney+ Hotstar will be available in Malaysia in the future, though this is only an educated guess at this point in time. Nonetheless, you can subscribe to the streaming service without worries now at RM54.90 for a three-month membership.

Alternatively, if you’re an Astro subscriber to the Movies Pack, you can get access to Disney+ Hotstar for RM5 per month. Do note that your monthly bill will automatically be charged an additional RM5 even if you don’t activate your Disney+ Hotstar membership with Astro.
