Aside from the Swift X, Acer also unveiled two new gaming laptops: the Acer Predator Triton 500 SE and Acer Predator Helios 500. Both of these can be configured with a powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, and both of them got their own unique features as well.
Let’s start with the slimmer gaming laptop of the two, the Triton 500 SE. It has a 19.9mm thin chassis, the aforementioned RTX 3080 GPU, up to an Intel Core i9 processor, and a maximum RAM capacity of 64GB.
What makes the Triton 500 SE even more interesting is its 16-inch 2560 × 1600 screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. There are three different panel options: a searingly bright 165Hz mini-LED display with a 1250 nits peak brightness, a 240Hz IPS “Polar Black” screen, or a more conventional 165Hz LCD panel.
Since we’re talking about displays, let’s break down the panel options of the bigger Helios 500 too. Its 17.3-inch screen can be configure with a sharp 4K mini-LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, or a blazing fast 360Hz Full HD panel with 3ms response time.
Other specifications of the Helios 500 include an overclockable 11th gen Core i9 processor, an RTX 3080 GPU, as well as up to 64GB of RAM.
The Acer Predator Triton 500 SE will hit the US market sometime in June 2021 from $1,750 (about RM7,245). The Predator Helios 500, on the other hand, will arrive later in August 2021 in the same market with a $2,500 starting price, which comes up to about RM10,350.
Both of these gaming laptops will be available in Malaysia as well, though it remains to be seen exactly when they will arrive here.
