Hyundai Kona N Line Teased for Malaysian Market – Arriving Here Soon
May 24, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Back at the Malaysian launch of the facelifted Hyundai Kona, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) teased that the sportier N Line variant of the B-segment SUV will also makes its way here. Well, HSDM just posted a new teaser of the Kona N Line, mentioning that it is “coming soon.”

Compared to the regular Kona, the N Line variant sports a more aggressive aesthetic. It has a different grille design, sportier LED headlamps, a revised rear bumper with two exhaust pipes, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels with a new, busier-looking design.

Inside the cabin, the Kona N Line gets some neat changes here and there to complete the sporty look of the B-segment SUV. You get N Line-branded bucket seats with red stitching, a gear knob with the N Line branding, and of course, a leather wrapped steering wheel with – you guessed it – the N Line logo.

Unfortunately, HSDM has not revealed the exact specification the Kona N Line yet, though there’s a good chance it will be powered by the more powerful Smartstream G1.6 T-GDi four-cylinder engine that outputs a whopping 198PS and 265Nm of torque. If the N Line does get this mill, it will be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

In terms of local pricing, expect the Hyundai Kona N Line to command a premium over the standard facelifted model, which currently retails from RM119,888 to RM136,888. Rest assured, we will keep a close eye on the Malaysian availability of the sportier B-segment SUV.
