Now this is quite interesting: Proton is gearing up to launch yet another special edition of its first SUV. Dubbed Proton X70 SE – that stands for special edition – the new variant has a number of neat changes, including a blue paint job.
The folks over at Paultan.org managed to get a brochure of the new X70 SE from an anonymous source. The brochure shows that the special edition SUV will feature the same Ocean Blue colour found on the Proton X50 and Iriz.
The other colour option is the existing Ruby Red paint job, and regardless of which colour you choose, the X70 SE will come with a blacked-out roof and side mirrors.
Aside from that, the 19-inch alloy wheels of the X70 SE are quite interesting as well. It’s the very same design found on the Geely Boyue Pro, the facelifted model of the Boyue – the X70 is based on this SUV.
However, that doesn’t mean the X70 SE will be based on the Boyue Pro. That will only be the case for the facelifted version of the X70, which is rumoured to be released sometime in August 2021.
Anyway, the X70 SE will feature black nappa leather seats as well instead of brown. There are also optional door visors and dash cam for the upcoming SUV.
No word yet from Proton on exactly when the Proton X70 SE will be officially released. Rest assured, we will keep a close eye on any official news regarding the new C-segment SUV.
