Asus Updates Several Gaming Laptops With RTX 3050, RTX 3050 Ti GPUs & Intel Tiger Lake-H Chips
May 11, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Asus just updated its range of gaming laptops with the latest Nvidia RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti GPUs alongside Intel’s equally new Tiger Lake-H processors. On top of that, the Malaysian availability of these gaming laptops have been revealed too.

Asus TUF Gaming F15 and F17

The most affordable Asus gaming laptops with Nvidia and Intel’s latest hardware are the Asus TUF Gaming F15 and F17. Both are powered by a Core i5-11400H processor with 8GB of RAM, an RTX 3050 GPU (65W TGP), Full HD IPS displays with a 144Hz refresh rate, as well as a 512GB SSD for RM4,199 and RM4,299 respectively.

There’s also a higher-end variant of the TUF Gaming F15 with a faster Core i7-11800H processor paired with 16GB of RAM and a beefier RTX 3060 GPU (95W TGP) for RM5,599. This particular model is set to arrive in Malaysia by the end of May 2021, while the RTX 3050 configuration of the F15 will land here in the middle of June 2021.

As for the RTX 3050 variant of the TUF Gaming F17, it will be available locally by the end of June 2021.

Asus TUF Dash F15

This gaming laptop, on the other hand, is updated with the new RTX 3050 Ti (65W TGP), though it’s still shipping with the same Core i7-11370H processor as the existing RTX 3060 and RTX 3070 models. Aside from that, it also features a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD for RM4,799.

If you’re keen to get this RTX 3050 Ti configuration of the TUF Dash F15, you’ll be happy to know that it will be available in Malaysia sometime this month.

Asus ROG Strix G15 and G17

And then we have the Asus ROG Strix G15 and G17 value-oriented gaming laptops. All of them are packed with an RTX 3050 GPU with a 95W TGP, Full HD IPS panels with a 144Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage.

What differentiates them is the choice of processor: the Ryzen 5 5600H Strix G15 costs RM4,199, while the Ryzen 7 5800H Strix G15 and Strix G17 go for RM4,499 and RM4,599 respectively.

Other than that, there’s a more unique variant of the ROG Strix G15 in an “Electro Punk” colourway too. Also powered by a Ryzen 7 5800H processor, this model costs slightly more at RM4,799, though it does come with colour-matched ROG Strix Impact II gaming mouse and mouse pad.

Both the ROG Strix G15 and G17 will be offered in Malaysia sometime this month.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

Last but certainly not least is the highest-end gaming laptop of the bunch – and my personal favourite – the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. All configurations of the G14 come with a Ryzen 7 5800HS processor paired with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, with the most affordable model sporting a GTX 1650 GPU (65W) and a 144Hz 14-inch 1080p IPS screen for RM4,799.

Moving up the price range is the RTX 3050 (75W TGP) variant of the Zephyrus G14, which is priced at RM5,699. Compared to the aforementioned model, you’re not only getting a beefier GPU, but also the unique AniMe Matrix LED lighting on the top lid.

If you want even better graphics performance, consider the RTX 3050 Ti (75W TGP) configuration of the Zephyrus G14. On top of the faster GPU, this model has a sharper 14-inch 2560 x 1440 IPS screen as well, though its refresh rate is slightly lower at 120Hz.

All variants of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 outlined here will be available in Malaysia sometime in May 2021 this month.
