OnePlus’ latest range of flagship smartphones, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, are set to arrive here in Malaysia very soon. Packing Hasselblad-branded cameras and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 chipsets, these are pretty interesting high-end smartphones, especially if they’re priced right.
In our routine search through SIRIM’s database, we noticed that both the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro were registered with SIRIM on 28 and 30 April respectively under All Plus Technology Sdn Bhd. Electronics have to go through the certification body first before they can be officially sold here in Malaysia, so chances are, these two smartphones will be launched here very soon.
The highlight of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro has to be their Hasselblad-branded cameras, which supposedly deliver more natural-looking colours. Both devices have similar camera configurations as well; they have a 48MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide angle shooter, a 2MP monochrome lens, and a 16MP selfie camera.
However, the OnePlus 9 Pro does come with an extra 8MP telephoto lens. On top of that, the Pro model also has a more impressive 6.7-inch 1440p AMOLED curved screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The regular OnePlus 9, on the other hand, features a more pedestrian (but still 120Hz) 6.55-inch 1080p AMOLED panel.
Other specifications of both flagships include the aforementioned Snapdragon 888 processor, a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging, as well as Android 11 out of the box.
The OnePlus 9 Pro The OnePlus 9
We haven’t received any word on the Malaysian availability of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, but given that they have been registered with SIRIM already, we reckon it’s only a matter of time before both of them are officially launched here.
