Surprise surprise, the Huawei Vision S has just been launched right here in Malaysia. Not only are we the first global market outside of China to receive the smart TV, the Vision S also offers really good value for money: it retails from only RM2,999 locally with some attractive features.
That’s right, this 4K smart TV with a fast 120Hz panel retails from only RM2,999, and that’s for the 55-inch model. The bigger 65-inch variant, on the other hand, costs RM3,999. Needless to say, the Vision S is a competitively priced smart TV, especially at these two sizes with a fast 120Hz refresh rate.
That being said, do keep in mind that the Vision S only has three HDMI 2.0 ports, so most devices – including gaming consoles like the PlayStation 5 – won’t be able to make full use of the 4K display at 120Hz. In order to run at 120Hz in 4K resolution, a HDMI 2.1 port is needed – do keep this in mind if you’re keen to get this TV for a particular device.
However, it’s also worth noting that the Vision S runs on Huawei’s own HarmonyOS, which will definitely be able to take advantage of the 4K 120Hz panel. Of course, the feasibility of HarmonyOS – especially in comparison to more popular operating system like Android TV – will depend on what kind of content that will be available on the OS.
To recap, the Huawei Vision S is priced at RM2,999 and RM3,999 for the 55-inch and 65-inch models respectively here in Malaysia. Both variants are now available for local pre-order as well.
