Acer just announced the Malaysian availability of two new gaming laptops: the Acer Nitro 5, and the higher-end Acer Predator Helios 300. Both of these laptops are refreshed with new hardware under the hood. The former gets Intel’s latest 11th generation H-series processor, while the Helios 300 is equipped with an Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU.

Let’s start with the more affordable laptop of the two, the Nitro 5. Two variants of the gaming laptop are offered in Malaysia: the RM3,799 base model features a Core i5-11300H processor, while the Core i7-11370H configuration costs RM4,399. Beyond the different processor, other specifications of the two variants are the same.

Both the Core i5 and Core i7 configurations of the Nitro 5 come with a GTX 1650 GPU, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, as well as a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS screen with a fast 144Hz refresh rate. These are not particularly beefy hardware, but it should still be able to run most games relatively well with tweaked graphics settings.

If you want a more powerful gaming laptop, then consider then new Helios 300. It features a beefier RTX 3060 GPU, which is a lot more capable than the Nitro 5’s GTX 1650 graphics card. That being said, it also ships with Intel’s 10th generation chips instead: the Core i5-10500H model costs RM5,299, while the Core i7-10870H variant retails at RM5,999.

Other specifications of the Helios 300 include a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS display with a fast 144Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, and a four-zone RGB keyboard.

The Acer Predator Helios 300 and Nitro 5 are now available in Malaysia at all Acer official online stores and Acer authorised resellers nationwide.
