We spotted the Xiaomi Mi 11 in SIRIM’s database last month, and it has finally landed in Malaysia yesterday. Not only is it the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 smartphone to be sold here, the Mi 11 also features some high-end hardware, though they do come at a price.

Two variants of the Mi 11 are available in Malaysia. The 128GB model retails at RM2,799, while the more generous 256GB configuration costs RM2,999. Both variants of the phone feature 8GB of RAM, and three colour options are available: Midnight Grey, Horizon Blue, and Cloud White; the latter will only be offered at a later date.

Without a doubt the Mi 11 is Xiaomi’s most expensive mainstream flagship phone yet, but you do get some high-end hardware for that kind of money. The Snapdragon 888 chipset powering the phone, for one, is more power-efficient than its predecessor, thanks to its 5nm size. It also promises up to 25% and 35% better CPU and GPU performance respectively.

Other specifications of the Mi 11 include a 6.81-inch 1440p curved AMOLED screen with a fast 120Hz refresh rate, a triple camera system (108MP f/1.85 primary + 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide angle + 5MP f/2.4 telemacro), a 20MP f/2.4 front-facing camera, a 4,600mAh battery, as well as an in-screen fingerprint sensor that can even measure heart rate.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 is now open for pre-order in Malaysia, but this is only for the 256GB model that costs RM2,999. The slightly more affordable 128GB variant (RM2,799), on the other hand, will only be sold here at a later date.
