Perodua Ativa D55L Launching Next Week on 3 March
February 24, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Opened for booking just last week, the brand new Perodua Ativa is set to be launched here in Malaysia next week on 3 March. Evidently, the carmaker isn’t waiting very long to unveil its upcoming compact SUV – based on the Daihatsu Rocky and Toyota Raize – to Malaysians.

One of the most exciting features of the Ativa is its range of safety features. According to Perodua, the D55L comes with a new Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) system that is available on all three variants (X, H, and AV) of the SUV. The new ASA is capable of operating at higher speeds over the current version, and Perodua even said that the system can detect two-wheeled vehicles.

Under the hood of the Ativa is a 1.0L turbocharged engine that should be similar to the one found under the hood of the Daihatsu Rocky and Toyota Raize, which are the two models the Ativa is based on. If this is the case, the 1.0L turbo engine will output 98PS and 140Nm of torque.

Other specifications of the Ativa include a CVT gearbox, an impressive rated fuel efficiency of 18.9km/l, LED headlights – standard across the range – 17-inch alloy wheels, and even level 2 autonomous driving for the range-topping AV model. This variant features Lane Keep Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

The Perodua Ativa D55L will be launched here in Malaysia next week on 3 March. With an estimated pricing between RM62,500 to RM73,400, it’s quite a competitively priced compact SUV; it’ll be interesting to see exactly how many bookings have already been placed for the Ativa.
