Samsung Galaxy S21 Series Now Starts at RM3,499 in Malaysia
February 24, 2021 Andrew Cheng

The Samsung Galaxy S21 series was notably more expensive than its predecessor when it was launched here in Malaysia last month. But that changes today: now starting at RM3,499, the S21 series is finally more affordable than the S20 smartphones (at launch) in our local market.

This is because Samsung Malaysia has brought in the more affordable 128GB variants of the S21 smartphones. The standard Galaxy S21 now starts at RM3,499, while the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra retail from RM3,999 and RM4,999 respectively.

However, do note that only one colour option is offered for these 128GB models. The S21 with 128GB of storage is available in the sole Phantom Grey colour, Phantom Violet for the S21+, and Phantom Black for the S21 Ultra.

Although the price difference for these new 128GB Galaxy S21 models are not particularly big compared to the 256GB variants, you do get excellent flagship smartphones for that kind of money. We’ve reviewed both the standard Galaxy S21 and range-topping Galaxy S21 Ultra, and overall, we’re impressed with the feature set of both devices, especially the compact form factor of the regular S21.

As for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, given that it is the range-topping model of the series, it features the most sophisticated camera system that is able to do up to 100x Space Zoom. We have reviewed the camera performance extensively, and suffice to say it is Samsung’s best camera system to date.

To recap, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series now starts at only RM3,499 here in Malaysia for the standard Galaxy S21. The S21+ and S21 Ultra, on the other hand, retail from RM3,999 and RM4,999 respectively.
