Perodua Ativa D55L SUV Brochure Leaks – 1.0L Turbo Engine & AEB as Standard
February 20, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Not long after Perodua opened bookings for the D55L SUV, the brochure of the new model started circulating online, confirming the name of the SUV. Dubbed Perodua Ativa, the leaked brochure also revealed a number of the SUV’s key specifications, including its engine capacity and safety equipment.

Just as we expected, the Ativa will feature a 1.0L turbocharged engine that should be similar to the one found under the hood of the Daihatsu Rocky and Toyota Raize, which are the two models the Ativa is based on. If this is the case, the 1.0L turbo engine will output 98PS and 140Nm of torque.

Paired with a CVT gearbox, Perodua claims that the Ativa will be able to return an impressive rated fuel efficiency of 18.9km/l. Besides that, the design of the LED headlights – standard across the range, by the way – and the 17-inch alloy wheels were pictured in the brochure as well.

Another interesting feature the leaked Ativa brochure detailed are the safety features found on the SUV. Unlike, say, the Proton X50, all variants of Perodua’s new SUV come with AEB and six airbags as standard. On top of that, it’s worth noting that the Ativa’s AEB feature – as part of Perodua’s new version of ASA – will work at higher operating speeds compared to the carmaker’s ASA system on its other models (like the Myvi) at the moment.

Looking at these features and equipment, the Perodua Ativa is shaping up to be a very interesting SUV. This is especially with its estimated pricing in mind, which is said to be between RM62,500 to RM73,400. If you’re keen to get this compact SUV, you may want to place your booking as soon as possible, given that the current sales tax exemption will end on 30 June 2021.
