In light of Nvidia’s announcement that laptop makers are now required to list the full GPU specifications of their RTX 30 series laptops, Asus has revealed key specifications of said GPUs powering the Taiwanese company’s latest range of gaming laptops. These include the powerful Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE, the unique Asus ROG Flow X13, and even the laptop’s accompanying ROG XG Mobile external GPU enclosure.
Let’s start with the GPU specifications of the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE. For the range-topping RTX 3080 model, it has a boost clock speed of 1645MHz with a 115W TGP; reasonably high TGP for a gaming laptop as slim as it is. Based on our review of the RTX 3080 Zephyrus Duo, it can certainly deliver very good performance.
As for the ROG Flow X13, the modest GTX 1650 under its hood has a boost clock speed of 1255MHz with a 35W TGP. Obviously, these are not very impressive numbers, but given that the Flow X13 (on its own) seems to be designed as a good productivity laptop that can also do some gaming on the side, these figures make sense.
But when paired with the ROG XG Mobile external GPU, the Flow X13 should bring some big performance upgrades. After all, the RTX 3080 variant of the XG Mobile enclosure – which is the only configuration set to be available in Malaysia – has a boost clock speed of 1810MHz with a whopping 150W TGP. It’ll be interesting to see if the proprietary connection that pairs the XG Mobile to the Flow X13 will have any performance degradation.
The full list of GPU specifications for Asus’ other RTX 30 series gaming laptops can be found in the list above. We expect other laptop makers to release the same information for its RTX 30 gaming laptops soon, given that this is now a requirement from Nvidia itself.
