Back in November last year, we reported that the Motorola Razr (2020) was registered with SIRIM under Lenovo Malaysia, and it appears the foldable smartphone is finally available for purchase here in Malaysia. As expected, this “modern flip phone” does not come cheap.
We first spotted the Malaysian availability of the Motorola Razr on DirectD’s Facebook page. According to the popular retailer, the flip phone retails at a cool RM5,999 for our local market. Those who purchase the Razr will also receive a complimentary leather case for the phone and a Lenovo Tab M7 tablet; these items are said to be worth RM768.
Compared to the first model released in 2019, the updated Razr is quite a bit better. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset now, providing 5G connectivity and better performance. On top of that, it also has a slightly larger 2,800mAh battery, which should be able to provide better battery life than the 2,510mAh cell of the 2019 model.
Other specifications of the 2020 Razr include (of course) a foldable 6.2-inch HD+ plastic OLED screen, an external 2.7-inch 800 x 600 OLED display, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of non-expandable storage, a single 48MP f/1.7 rear camera, a 20MP f/2.2 selfie camera, and a rear fingerprint sensor.
To recap, the Motorola Razr (2020) can now be purchased in Malaysia for RM5,999. If you’re keen to grab this decadent flip phone, you can do so over at DirectD’s online store.
