One of the most interesting gaming laptops unveiled by Asus at CES 2021 was the Asus ROG Flow X13, a 13-inch convertible gaming laptop that can be connected to an eGPU for even better gaming performance. Well, if you’re eyeing to get this compact gaming machine, you’ll be happy to know that it is coming to Malaysia very soon.
In fact, the ROG Flow X13 was actually registered with SIRIM last week on 8 January by three companies under the GV301Q model number. This is the very same model number reflected in the gaming laptop’s official product page on Asus Malaysia’s website, which suggests that the gaming laptop will be arriving here in the near future.
Based on the spec sheet of the ROG Flow X13 on Asus Malaysia’s website, the gaming laptop will feature AMD’s brand new Ryzen 9 5900HS processor paired with 16GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU with 4GB GDDR6 memory, a 13.4-inch 1920 x 1200 touch-enabled IPS screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD.
If you’re wondering why a gaming laptop of this calibre only features an entry-level GTX 1650 GPU, that’s because the Flow X13 is meant to be paired with the ROG XG Mobile external GPU enclosure. The product page for the eGPU is already up on Asus Malaysia’s website, though it did not detail the exact GPU the Malaysian market will receive. If you’re wondering, this eGPU enclosure can be configured with an RTX 3080 or RTX 3070 laptop GPU.
We’ve contacted Asus Malaysia regarding the local availability of the Asus ROG Flow X13, and we were told that the more details will be revealed sometime next month in February 2021. On top of that, the Taiwanese company will also announce the availability of other ROG products for the Malaysian market then.
