Xiaomi Mi Watch Finally Arriving in Malaysia Soon
January 11, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Previously, Xiaomi Malaysia teased that the Xiaomi Mi Watch was set to arrive in Malaysia sometime in December last month. Evidently, this didn’t pan out, but we have good reason to believe that the wearable will be arriving on our shores very soon.

As usual, we were scouring SIRIM’s database when we noticed that Era International Network and Rainbow Distribution registered a smartwatch with the model number XMWTCL02. We’re confident this is the Mi Watch, given that the same model number is listed on the official product page of the wearable.

Compared to the budget-friendly Mi Watch Lite, the Mi Watch is a more premium offering. Its circular display, for one, is a sharper, vibrant 1.39-inch 454 x 454 AMOLED screen. It also has a much larger 420mAh battery that promises up to 16 days of use on a single charge.

Other specifications of the Mi Watch include 117 workout modes, over 100 watchfaces, a heart rate sensor, the ability to measure blood oxygen level, a 5 ATM water resistance rating, as well as a “high-end” 12nm GPS chip. It’s said to take advantage of customised mileage optimisation algorithms to improve movements and mileage accuracy for more precise fitness data.

At the moment, we haven’t heard from Xiaomi Malaysia on the local availability of the Xiaomi Mi Watch. Given that the smartwatch has already been registered with SIRIM, we reckon it will be launched here very soon.
